HOMEPAGE
Investment in post-genomic technologies presents the opportunity to take a multi-species and multidisciplinary approach, bridging the gap at the neglected interface between genomics, physiology and ecology, which benefits a wide range of researchers. The key aspect of my project is biological timing (chronobiology), which is a cornerstone of biology, as adaptation to, and, anticipation of, environmental changes are essential for an organism’s fitness. Therefore, chronobiology has wide appeal to many researchers across organisms. By investing in post-genomic and chronobiology approaches we can gain an unprecedented mechanistic, integrative understanding of fundamental biology, encompassing levels from cellular biochemistry to ecosystem health. These funds have established a unique capability for epigenetics and chronobiology research at UiT, applicable to a wide range of biological sub-disciplines.
