The Mohn Prize 2020 – call for nominations

UiT The Arctic University of Norway, Academia Borealis – The Academy of Sciences and Letters of Northern Norway, and Tromsø Research Foundation welcome nominations for The International Mohn Prize for Outstanding Research Related to the Arctic (The Mohn Prize). The prize, which carries a cash award of 2 million NOK (approximately 210 000 €), is awarded biennially.

The statutes for the Mohn Prize specifies that:

Nominations for the International Mohn Prize for Outstanding Research Related to the Arctic (The Mohn Prize) can be submitted for individuals or research groups who hold a leading international position in his/her/their field, who is/are widely recognised as leader in his/her/their field, and who has/have developed groundbreaking new knowledge about the Arctic. The prize is not awarded post mortem. (The only exception being in cases where the laurate passes away after the award has been announced, but before the award ceremony.)

The nomination process is open to anyone. Nominations are confidential, and should not be made known to the nominee. Self-nominations will not be accepted.

The deadline for nominations is the 31st of July 2019.
